Unanticipated

Last night, something happened that I never thought would happen. For the entire length of my swim, I was the fastest person in the AF Pool. As I reveled in the glory of the feat, it occurred to me that maybe it had something to do with the fact that the only other people in the pool were a 350+ lb woman who was backstroking her way to better health (which I applaud) and a fellow who was clearly just learning how to swim. I take small victories however I can get them.

Two things I believe:

1. The easily entertained are entertained more often.
2. Medium-level expectations (realistic) make you satisfied more often.

You can always tell a Milford man. (not really applicable, but hilarious).

Kind of like when you are riding along, see a carrot up the road, get all excited about catching the carrot, and then realize that it's a guy in jeans, flat pedals, riding his 1985 mountain bike to work (which I applaud), and you can't help but wonder if he lost his drivers license due to one too many DUI's. Not so cool anymore, but if you're being honest, you still feel good about passing that guy.

I passed some kids last night racing back to grab the vehicle to get an injured friend some help. On the way I zipped by some kids and a parent also riding bikes. I heard the kids yell to the parent that I was breaking the speed limit...I smiled at that one.
