Parts selection looks great. I would look at the Schwalbe Racing Ralph 2.4. More money than almost anyother 29er tire, but very much worth it. It measures like a 2.25 or 2.3, not a 2.4. Great traction both going up and through turns, sheds mud pretty well, good weight, lots of air volume. Seems to roll really well too. If you are fully rigid, air volume is your friend obviously. The lower the pressure the comfy. I have one on my rear wheel, but I think it would do well front and back. I have a Panaracer Rampage on the front currently, it is very nice as well. I run the Schwalbe at 24 lbs and the Rampage at 24 or so as well. Even though you weigh more than me, I doubt you would have to run more than 28 or 30 lbs with those tires.

Twice I have run into guys out here running the Crossmark and they love it. But they are all on either front or full suspension. It doesn't have enough air volume for me on the front.

The schwalbe is a MUCH better tire than other large volume 29er tires I have ridden.

I admit that I covet it already. I should get on my knees and repent about that, but I would just have to repent again in a few days anyway--so why bother.

That bike has even me salivating. You will get it just in time for RAWROD... right???

There's no way in hell I'm going to try to RAWROD on a single speed. That whole gravity thing really gets in the way.

Kenny, Fatty and most of the rest of the core team ride fully rigid around here and like the CrossMarks, so I'll probably stick with those.

That is a great parts list! Re: RAWROD - you have already done it on a 'cross bike and I don't think anything is harder than that!

cool. But once you go fat, it is hard to go back. That actually works a couple of ways. Although, I can think of at least one way it doesn't work.

kp makes a good point, fish. the sabrosa will be a walk in the park compared to that.

shoot, if you're not going to ride it on rawrod, I will.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. If I were to ride that thing on RAWROD, I'd have to start training now.

Fish,
RAWROD on a single would be great training for the crazy race your going to do in Arizona!
